Baja Expeditions is foraying into new frontiers

For about half a century, Baja Expeditions has been a go-to guided adventure outfitter in La Paz — offering exhilarating excursions like swim safaris, whale interactions, mothership kayaking and camping options for every level of luxury preference.

Now you can add deep desert offroad touring dives and multi-day overlanding outbacking to go along with Sea of Cortez surface and submersive immersions.

The idea is to encourage visitors to explore the peninsula’s less-visited interior and get more people to experience and appreciate what the Baja hinterlands have to offer scenery seekers and culture explorerers.

“People think Baja is just beaches and whales,” Baja Expeditions Mike Thorneycroft told veteran peninsula wander Jessica Vincent for a National Geographic profile published last month. “But it’s more than that. These trips are about getting people out of the resorts and into Baja’s least-visited communities, and learning some of their history and culture.”
